Rick demonstrates a unique approach with each arrangement, and shows how to capture the essence of the tunes without detracting from the familiar melodies and the warmth and spirit behind them. An intriguing cross-section of techniques are used including traditional and double-time alternating bass, contrapunctual and harmonized lines, voice leading, chordal comping with the melody played on the bottom, and more. Each piece is arranged for several passes that become more complex each time around. This makes them accessible to a variety of skill levels. Rick also shows you numerous variations, fills and harmonic alternatives that the advanced player can use to take these tunes to new heights.
