Biography: Dewayne Pate |

Dewayne Pate graduated from the Musicians Institute in 1981 where he studied privately with Jeff Berlin and Bob Magnusson. It is there that he cultivated his phenomenal two-handed tapping techniques that are taught in his video “The Art of Tapping for Electric Bass.” Since returning home to San Francisco he has worked with such notables as Huey Lewis & The News, Boz Scaggs, Steve Lukather, Robben Ford, Pete Escovedo, Ray Obeido, Bonnie Hayes, Charlie Musselwhite, Chris Cain and others. He is a regular contributor to several music publications and can be found recording and touring with the Ford Blues Band. |
